An orange thank you!

I am not the best with the color orange!  So much, in fact, that I had to buy the ink and paper just to defeat this problem!  And I find myself doing monochromatic ALL the time!  So I had to defeat that problem too!  So other than really needing to re-ink my orange pad, here is my first shot using my new color....

I love Spiral Bouquet!  Such a fun set!  So many possibilities!  And I had to try out a new fun little ribbon treatment!  Oh, AND my new wood grain plate!  I LOVE love it!  :)

So what colors are you afraid of?  I am definitely going to have to come back with some more orange soon!  Thanks for stopping by today!

OH...and the clouds from yesterdays post are from the You're Dandy set from Practicing Creativity!

  1. Afraid of orange? But that's my most favorite color ever! And if you just got that pad you should complain because it should not be that dry. My OZ covers really well and I've never re-inked it at all and I use it often.
Have to say I love the touch of HS thrown in here with the purple/orange combo...really catches my eye. And I like the simple score-bug line too...little details add a lot!
Colors I don't use a lot: Melon Berry, Pure Poppy, lavender Moon

  3. I LOVE orange, and you've done it proud here with this beautiful card! I can't think of any color I'm afraid of, except perhaps too much white space ;)

  4. There was a time when I didn't like orange, but now it's one of my faves. You did a great job with it - love this pretty card! Me, I think I'd have to say I'm afraid of purple. Yes, purple. eek!

  5. Afraid of? Hmm...that honor probably has to go to red. I just don't care for the color in anything - lipstick, clothes, shoes, food...i'm just not a fan. When I have tried to use it in cards (like on V Day) it just comes off not right for me. I'm not sure what it is because I like when other people wear it or use it, but it's just too much out of my comfort zone. maybe i'll force myself to make a card using red tonight...hmm...

As for your card, I love it. I really like the unexpected ribbon treatment and the woodgrain. I havn't gotten that plate yet, but it's on my ever growing list... :o)

  9. This is a really beautiful color combo, Laurie! I used to be afraid of orange, but I'm not any more. However, I tend to use it only with Kraft and white/vintage cream!! I'm afraid of purple....don't know why, just am!

Beautiful card, by the way! LOL!

  13. I haven't always liked orange, but I do now. I like pairing it with brown for masculine cards. You did a good job with it on your card. It turned out very elegant. Love the little pearls you added to the flowers. Nice touch!

  15. I love those flowers. And the ribbon looks cool. I like the way one side is cut and the other is looped. The Hawaiian Shores, Plum Pudding, and Orange Zest look great together.

  19. You're not alone in your fear of orange...I'm right there with you. I love this card, however, and think I'll be giving my orange some love this week (if I find any spare time, that is!)
