Medallion Tutorial

Stopping in today with a fun little tutorial on how to make a Medallion out of a fence die.  Fun huh?  Don't you love it when your crafting supplies stretch?  Whoda thot right?  First off here is my medallion card...

IMG_7115_edited-1

All of the supplies you see here are from Clear and Simple.  Here is a list of what you need...

It's pretty easy to make but I thought I would show a few pics anyways!

1. Cut out 2 fences...

2.  Fold up the fence accordion style...it's so easy to do because of the "railings"...that is basically all that scoring done for you!

3.  Take a small piece of 1/8" double sided adhesive and add it to the ends of the fence....

4.Attach the ends...

...to make a circle...

5.  Punch out 2-1" circles...

6.  Push center of fence down flat and adhere using a large glue dot.  I put one cirlce on each side...

7. Finished!  (You could make this into a smaller medallion too, just by cutting a little off the bottom!)

I added a Nestabilities Circle with the L onto the medallion.  Then I attached it to the stamped label with glue dots.

IMG_7115_edited-2

I tucked in some ribbon loops and put the whole thing on the impressed card front.  Oh and I added a little light gray Copic to the "L" for some dimension!

I hope you like my card!  Let me know if you have any questions!  My blog is going to be a little quiet for awhile!  We have lots going on here!  First things first....the mountain of laundry...the never ending problem at my house and there is only 4 of us...whats up with that?!  hehe!

Have a great day!

Ahoy matey....

Good morning!  We have a new sketch today over at Retro Sketches!  First off, here is my card...

IMG_7092_edited-1

I colored something.  I know right?  I used Prismas and OMS in honor of my friend Suzanne, who I wish lived in Kansas because we talk and text enough she might as well.  :)  Anyway, I know she loves Prismas, so I had to pull them out.  I used to use them all the time but its been awhile.  I was also inspired to use this set because of Christina.  She posted about it recently, so again....I had to pull it out!  It'a pretty CAS but I am just excited that I actually colored something!  I keep staring at it thinking I should have added more to the white space.  Wondering if this card will end up as a redo.  LOL

OK enough babbling...here is the sketch...

I hope that you can play along with us this week!  Here is another challenge on top of this one....color something!  :)  Have a great weekend!

It's National Pink Day!

So CAS-ual Fridays is challenging you to make a pink card!  Fun huh?  Here is my very pink card...

IMG_7082_edited-1

All the supplies you see here are from Clear and Simple.  The banner die is SO fun for a card.  The little elephant die looks perfect in chevron don't you think?  And the sentiment comes from the Baby Sentiments set. Super easy, pink card!

Here is this week's challenge badge...

And this week's fantastic sponsor...

We hope you can play along this week!  Now go make something pink and link it up!  :)

Have a great day!

A little sunshine...

I got a fun package in the mail yesterday!  My PTI order came!  So, of course, I had to get stuff out and make something, right?  Here here is that little something...

IMG_7079_edited-2

I gave the stamping in a circle thing a try.  I love how it's spaced out and done for you!  But it's gonna take some practice!  My was not great! (ETA: Someone sounded worried in a comment!  It is really easy! The design is genius and maybe I'm being to hard on myself but you will love it! I just have to give it a few more go's! Lol!) So I gave this sideways thing a shot!  I wanted a tiny space in between each and it worked out great!  I cut the sunshine panel out with scissors, even though I bought the die.  I have this thing with the perfectly centered die/stamp.  :)

IMG_7080_edited-1

And then I added a little "You are my" to finish.  I saw that stamped at an angle during the release.  Those DT cards did me in for this set!  Those girls are amazing!

Ok, off to watch some mindless television with my guy!  Hope you all have a great day!

DeNami Product Spotlight

Here today with my final post for DeNami Design!  I have been with them for 1 1/2 years already...is that right?  Boy does time fly!  I'm stepping down to have a little more family time!

This week we are showcasing this Surfboard Trio stamp.  Here is my card...

IMG_6863_edited-1

I stamped the boards twice for a border and then stamped them again, colored them and cut them out.  I popped up the colored boards on foam tape.  I added a fun little sentiment and there you have it!

Here is the stamp for the week....

Go add it to your cart!  It's 10% off this week!  Go check out the DeNami blog for more surf board goodness!

Sending out a huge hug to all my DeNami DT members!  I have had a ton of fun!  And to all my DeNami friends...I will still be checking in and maybe joining in a blog hop here and there!  Paulina, you are the sweetest thing there is!  It has been a blast working with you all!  Thanks for everything!

Have a great day!

Recent Pub cards...

I got up the nerve to send in a couple cards for the last couple Paper Crafts calls.  I don't' know why I have such a hard time doing it, but I just don't do it that often!  I did send in one card for Card Creations Volume 10 call and I was so excited to get that acceptance email!  Here is my card...

IMG_7072_edited-1

And this card is in the July/August PC Mag...

IMG_7076_edited-1

This card was so easy!  I don't use stickers that often, but I found these in some of the goodies from the Stamping Royalty prize and I had to use them!

That's all I have for today!  Off to spend time the hubs for Father's Day!  It's another pool day for sure!  Hope you are all enjoying your day too!  Thanks for coming by!

Retro Sketches #16

Are you ready for a challenge?  I hope you are because I am really excited to see what everyone comes up with this week for Retro Sketches!  The most amazing original card, come from N@!  Check it out HERE.

Here is my very "kid" card for this week...

IMG_7068_edited-1

My CAS brain wouldn't let me do to much.  I did try!  But I knew I couldn't pull off that amazing card by N@!  She had just the right colors and details, so I pulled a few things from her card.  I used the rainbow colors, the paper strips, button and last, the teddy bear!

And here is the sketch...

I hope you have the chance to play along this week!  Go check out  the Retro Sketches blog to see what the other girls have for you!  Then go link up your creation too!

Thanks for coming by!  Have a great weekend!

CAS-ual Fridays #57

I'm kinda excited about this weeks challenge!  I had lots of ideas and no time.  (Busy busy with ball and important stuff like going to the pool! hehe!) ;)  SO when I put my first card together, I was happy it worked!  This week we are supposed to use something "clear"...vellum, acetate etc.  So here is my card using a little vellum...

CAS-ual Fridays #57

...and sand!  That's right!  I figured if glitter would work, then sand should too, right?  I added 3 strips of half inch score tape and then went out to the sand box!  B kept saying, "Mommy why are you putting sand on your paper?"  lol.  I added the vellum wrapped sentiment and some flip flops...love these new dies!!

So that is it for today!  Here is this weeks challenge badge...

Karolyn Loncon is our sponsor this week so head on over at the CFC blog and you can check out this week's prize!  Can't wait to see what you create! Thanks for coming by!

Hexagon goodness...

I adore these new Hexagon dies from Clear and Simple Stamps! There are 6 dies all together and each die comes with its own coordinating frame stamp.  LOVE that!  It's a great combo!  Here is a card I made using the new dies...

IMG_6956_edited-1

I added a little patterned paper background and then placed some burlap.  I attached the hexagons with foam tape.  On top of that, I added some felt roses I made using the Build a Flower dies.  Oh and a twine bow too!  The "missing you" sentiment is from Simply Stated 2, and I just masked off the "you".

We are right in the middle of VBS this week so it has been crazy around here!  No card making going on at this house!  That and the pool.  I look like a tomato this week.  Yes I forgot sun screen!  I put it on the kids and I was in such a hurry, I forgot about myself!  I usually know better but the sting of a sunburn will help me remember for next time, I'm sure!  We have a fishing derby this weekend and an outdoor movie in the park! It should be a fun weekend!

Hope you are having a great week!  Thanks for stopping in today!

Clear and Simple {June} Group Post

Welcome to June's Group Post over at Clear and Simple Stamps.  Today, June 12th, is National Red Roses day, so here we are celebrating the rose.  Here is my project using the new sets, Flowers and Flower Buds...

IMG_6895_edited-1

I also snuck a little argyle in the background from Designer Lines.  There is just a tiny bit of stickles in the middle of the roses, to finish it off!

Check out the rest of the DT girls and see what they have created!  Here is a list of links to check out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

A berry fun idea...

So, my friend Suzanne and I have been texting this week about our new favorite purchase!  (Aren't all purchases  "favorites"?  lol!)  I just got THIS set from WPlus9 in the mail on Friday and was so excited, I texted her yesterday and said to her...make something quick!  Let's post together on Sunday!  That's a fun challenge right?

Here is the card I whipped up for today...

IMG_7031_edited-1

Along with the Fresh Picked set, I got the dies too.  I love this little window included in the set!  I stamped the window in PTI's Dark Chocolate and the strawberries in Pure Poppy.  The leaves are Amuse Fern.  (I haven't said before that Amuse ink is the greatest ever have I?)  I used PTI's scalloped border on the white cardstock and because I have no idea how to use that thing without getting a big embossed line on the edge, I ran the cardstock through with the Linen IP.  If you have any suggestion on how to use that scalloped border and not get a big line in your cardstock....please let me know!  :)

I can't wait to see what the sweet, Suzanne has made up with her new set!  Click HERE to see her blog!  (We skyped yesterday for a little and her accent is soooo cute!!  She's coming to see me in a few months and I can't wait!!)

Alright!  We are off to play outside!  Hope you are all doing well!  Have a great Sunday!

Retro Sketches #14

Happy Saturday!  I am here today with another round of Retro Sketches!  This weeks sketch is brought to you by...me!  You can see my original card HERE!

Here is take 2...

IMG_7019_edited-1

I made my own pattern paper by stamping on pattern paper.  I am going to guess that this may be the first time I have done this.  It was hard for my one track mind to do.  But I did.  And then I embossed it!  The shape is SU's Top Note die.  I remember when that thing came out I HAD to have it!  I still really like it but I don't use it as much as I used to!  I added a little scripture from PTI and a bow!

Here is the sketch...

I can't wait to see your take on this sketch!  I hope you can play along!  Go link up your creations HERE!  You can check out Arielle, Kasia and Jackie's creations while you're there!

A big thank you to all the amazing support I received over this last week!  So many emails and notes and I am just speechless!  I am truly honored to have made it to the Top 20 of Gallery Idol.  I made 19 new amazing friends and we have had a blast in our own little Facebook group chatting it up this week!  I can't wait to see what they have for us in this next round!

Have a great weekend!

Polka Dot Challenge

Welcome to another edition of CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!  This weeks it's all about polka dots!  Here is my polka dot flip flop card...

IMG_6980_edited-1

I used this adorable Flip Flop border from DeNami and the Sending you Sunshine sentiment.  I colored in the flip flops with Copics and then added a score line.  Super simple!

Here is this week's challenge badge...

And this week's terrific sponsor...

So glad you could stop in today!  Hope you have a great day!
